About Me

My name is Beata, and I'm a recent graduate from NC State University in Agricultural&Biological Engineering Technology. I split my time between my interests pertinent to the world of agriculture and agronomy, and those relating to computer engineering/computer science. Some ongoing projects and hobbies include:

planting and managing my tea garden in Western NC
running Linux on my laptops and learning a lot about computers in the process! (Running Manjaro xfce on my T440p thinkpad, and Arch with dwm on my x220 thinkpad)
helping my dad design and build our new family home. I'm learning AutoCAD in the process from him, since he's an experienced user.
furthering my programming skills in Python with a focus on Machine Learning libraries like Tensorflow.
reading books on a variety of topics, including Polish history, philosophy, sci-fi, epic poetry, and traditions of agriculture across the world.

This is a photo I took at the Camelia Forest, where I volunteer and collaborate with Dr. Christine Parks to learn more about tea cultivation.

One could use this setup to write ~~a blog~~ short updates. For images make sure to use the loading="lazy" attribute, so they get loaded only when needed.1 You might be able to use it for iframe embeds too(?), but maybe just write a link to the Youtube video instead.
